The Ensemble Academy is a joint initiative of the two internationally renowned and specialised ensembles, the Ensemble Recherche and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.
The aim of the Academy is to combine the two ensembles’ specialisms in early and contemporary music, thereby serving as a forum for exchange. A central component of the Ensemble Academy is the Academy Week on the performance practice of early and contemporary music, which has taken place annually for a week in September since 2004.
David Irimescu took part both as a pianist (contemporary music) and as a harpsichordist (Baroque music)
