At the Vigo Piano Competition 2026 David Irimescu was nominated with a special mention of honour of the jury led by Martha Argerich, the Special Mauricio Vallina Prize and the Special Valerian Shukashvili Prize , both as endorsements of the favourite participant of the respective jury members.
